| The Palazzo degli Uffizi used to house the administrative offices, the Tribunal and the state archives. The entire project of the art museum was planned by the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Cosimo I. With time the palace started housing the sculptures and paintings collected by the Medici family and those which were owned by them. The remaining of the Medici family’s collections is being showcased in the museum since ages.
