| The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia, also known as Museo Reina Sofia or Queen Sofia Museum or even Sofia, is situated in the city of Madrid. This magnificent museum was inaugurated by the Royal Highness King Juan Carlos of Spain and Queen Sofia on 10th September, 1992. Queen Sofia Museum is recognized as one of the most contemporary museums of the world. The museum holds the great exhibits of art.
Among the most precious collections of the museum are the creations of two great masters of art in the 20th century, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali. You can get to see the great painting of Picasso, “Guernica” in this museum. Besides these, the museum can boast of having the creations of other famous artists like:

| Another significant attraction of the museum is the library which can be accessed by anybody. The library has a wonderful collection of more than 100,000 books, 1000 videos and 3,500 sound recordings.
The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia was designed by the renowned architect Francisco Sabatini in the 18th century to be built as a hospital and later on went through several modifications and extensions to be finally converted into an artistic monument. The modern look of the museum was given by the English architect Ian Ritchie.The Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia got recognition as a National Museum of Spain in 1998.
