History of Vale do Lobo Resort:
Vale do Lobo Resort was the first of its kind in the Algarve founded in1962 by Trusthouse Forte plc and Costain plc. At that time the Algarve was mainly populated by farmers and fishermen. In fact, the Faro Airport came into existence only after the formations of Vale do Lobo, its 5 Star Le Meridien Hotel, Dona Filipa and the Golf course.
Current status of Vale do Lobo Resort:
In 2006, the resort was handed over to a group of Portuguese and international investors, including the largest national bank Caixa Geral de Depositos. Diogo Gaspar Ferreira became the Chief Executive. With continuing process of investment and improvement over the years, Vale do Lobo has sustained its position as one of the premier resorts in Europe and is today the biggest luxury resort in Portugal controlled by the same company.
Vale Do Lobo Real Estate:
1500 gorgeous houses have already been built along Vale do Lobo’s 2 km of golden beach and interlaced with its two championship golf courses – and there are plans for 500 more houses.

Vale Do Lobo Golf:
Vale do Lobo houses two challenging lush green golf courses – the Royal and the Ocean – which have hosted the European PGA Tour event, and the Portuguese Open. Members of the Proprietors´ Club at Vale do Lobo have the privilege to buy specially priced golf titles (or benefit from a 55% reduction in green fees) and relish reserved tee-times. For both members and visitors regular tournaments and competitions make for a busy social calendar. A fully equipped clubhouse offers a complete service to golfers.
Facilities at Vale Do Lobo:
Vale do Lobo assures that all the services that may be required by the guests are present at the door step. A range of boutiques provide commodities from souvenirs to jewelry. Fiftenn quality restaurants are located throughout the resort, where visitors can enjoy international cuisine ranging from Asian to French, Italian to Portuguese seafood specialties. The resort has its own Medical Centre.
