Situated seven kilometers away from the West of faro in Portugal, Faro Airport (FAO) is the main airport and international gateway for Faro. Faro Airport or Aeroporto Internacional de Faro (Portuguese) is an airport that is mainly used by international tourists on holiday in the Algarve but in the resent times the airport has made a major influence on the business community in Southwest Iberian peninsula and has established itself as Europe's one of the leading low cost airlines' hub in Europe. At present Faro Airport (FAO) has the capacity to handle nearly five million passengers per week. Recently the airport has renovated its terminal that lies four kilometers Southwest of city center of Faro. Beside busy operation of domestic airlines, Faro Airport is served very well by regular scheduled flights from UK, Germany, Spain and other European countries. Apart from serving domestic and international passengers inside the terminal, Faro Airport has got special facility for car parking.
