About Europe

Europe forms part of the seven continents of the Earth. Geographically, Europe is located on the westernmost part of Eurasia, lying on the west of Asia. The most interesting thing about Europe is that it is bordered on three sides with water bodies. It is lined on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the west by the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by the Mediterranean Sea, on the southeast by the Caucasus Mountains and the Black Sea. Europe is separated from Asia by the water divide of the Ural River, the Ural Mountains and also by the Caspian Sea. As per as population, Europe is the third-largest continent in the world, ranking after Asia and Africa. The population of 710,000,000 speaks a lot about Europe.

In terms of area, Europe ranks as the second-smallest continent in the world. It covers an area of 10,180,000 square kilometers. Australia is the only continent that is smaller than Europe. Europe's total population density is among the highest in the world. The term continent refers to a cultural or physical or a political distinction one, leading to a number of perspectives about Europe's borders, area, and population. Russia is by far Europe's largest country in terms of area and population, while the Vatican is the smallest country. Europe is the originating place of the European Union, which is a union of twenty-seven independent states and has been established to enhance political, economic and social co-operation and integration.

Most countries in Europe have official religions, like Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, the Vatican City, Greece, Denmark, Iceland, and Norway. Catholicism is the official religion of the Vatican City, while eastern orthodoxy is of Greece and Lutheran of Norway. In Switzerland, some of the provinces are officially Catholic, while others are Reformed Protestant. Certain Swiss villages go to the extent of having their religion and their village name inscribed on the signs at their entrances.

In brief, many features can be ascribed to Europe, which can speak loads about Europe's culture, language, religion and other aspects.
